Selecting a Ketubah:
The first step in
choosing a Ketubah is selecting the design of your
choice. All you need to do is click on the
Ketubah gallery,
scroll down, and choose your favorite design. Over
each Ketubah, you will see a code, which you should then
fill into your order form.
Printing and Paper Type:
Just like
with handmade Ketobot, we insist on specialized, high
quality, which gives the Ketubah an artistic value and a
rich appearance.
The printing
process is carried out through a few stages. The
original design is completely hand-drawn. It is
then scanned and put through quality, professional
editing, then printed with a specialized printer for
artwork printing.
The Ketubah is printed on soft-textured art paper or on
genuine
parchment (the same of which is used for writing Sifrei
Torah, Tefillin and Mezuzot) of the highest quality and
with a special texture which gives it an original and
authentic appearance. The parchment color is
light, a fact which accentuates the painting and color.
This parchment is stronger than paper and can last for
many years.
Ketubah
sizes:
Paper –
16.5” x 23.5”
Parchment –
18” x 24”
Personalizing the Ketubah for every couple:
We offer the
standard Orthodox version, downloadable on our site,
which you then send to the Rabbi who will be officiating
the ceremony.
You then
send it back to us including all the details of the
bride and groom and with the required changes. You
can ask the Rabbi for any other Orthodox version which
you wish to use, including the insertion of the couple’s
personal details.
We then add
all these details to the version you have sent, and send
it back to you for confirmation by your Rabbi.
The text
will be entered smoothly with the exception of the
witnesses’ signatures which will be added at the time of
the Chuppah ceremony.
Preparing
the text and filling in all the information in advance,
can prevent mistakes and save you unnecessary trouble
during the Chuppah ceremony.
The font
used in the Ketubah is an authentic Ashuri / Sofrut
font, which looks identical to Sofer Sta”m writing.
Additions and Upgrades
You can
upgrade your Ketubah by adding handmade “extras” which
give the ketubah an exquisite artistic value.
Your options
are:
1.
A burnt
parchment appearance around the Ketubah and hand-made
cutting around the edges to give the Ketubah the perfect
finish. Recommended for Ketubot on
paper/parchment.
2.
Drawing and
additional layers of acrylic paint by our professional
artists – accentuates the colors and upgrades the
Ketubah to the same level as an “original”.
Recommended for Ketubot on parchment.
3.
Adding
genuine 23 kt gold over the letters in the places you
choose. We use gold leaves with an exclusive
gluing technique, performed manually and very
accurately. These gold highlights give the Ketubah
an eye-catching exquisite, dazzling look.
The gold
leaves do not lose their sparkle and do not wear out,
and provide an added artistic value and perfect look to
the Ketubah. Recommended for Ketubot on
paper/parchment.
4.
Tracing the
text over with ink by a Sofer Sta”m (scribe of Sifrei
Torah, Tefillin and Mezuzot). This ink overlay
accentuates and causes the letters to shine.
Recommended for Ketubot on parchment.
